Andrew Rubin - Principal

Andrew founded the Rubin Group in 2009 after identifying the firm’s first multi-family project. Today he is responsible for the identification and acquisition of new opportunities, fundraising activities for both debt and equity, settlement, development planning, entitlement, and is involved in operational tasks including design and construction management.  Previously Andrew was a project manager for a nonprofit developer of affordable housing, where he assisted in raising a large private equity fund for the acquisition and redevelopment of Section 8 properties throughout the United States.  He has developed or redeveloped close to 2,000 units of multifamily housing in his career.  Andrew holds a BA from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where he majored in History with a minor in City and Regional Planning.

Michelle Tygier - Principal

Mimi oversees all aspects of project production for the Rubin Group including contractor, engineer, and architect interfaces, construction management and regulatory work including permitting, condominium conversion process, and ANC and HPO communications. She is also actively involved in marketing and the follow-on warranty/customer fulfillment.  Prior to joining the Rubin Group, she worked in numerous consulting and philanthropic positions after spending the first decade of her career with IBM.  Mimi holds a BS from Louisiana State University, where she majored in Computer Science with a minor in Accounting.

Robert Rubin - Advisor

Robert is a senior advisor to The Rubin Group on strategic and financial issues. His business career includes extensive experience in real estate, banking and finance. He is a graduate of the University of Maryland with a degree in Accounting and received an MBA in Finance from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.

Grant Russell- Associate

Grant is an associate with the Rubin Group, where he focuses on assisting the principals on a wide range of tasks including acquisition and development activities, construction management, operational duties, and asset management. Previously, he worked for BB&T in multiple commercial lending roles after having completed the bank’s leadership development program. Grant holds a BA from Washington and Lee University, where he double majored in Economics and Classics.
